Default Monstrous Fangs

Can anyone suggest a good place to hunt for monstrous fangs? Apparently, Luxon armor requires a big amount of those... buying them at the amount I need is just too expensive.

Also, anyone have a clue why Luxon armor generally uses much more expensive rare materials than Kurzick? There's a bias!!

The only Luxon armor that requires Monstrous Fangs is Necromancer, and when you look at it, you'll see why.

Let me introduce you to a wonderful site: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Main_Page where you can find all the info you need about armors. And seriously, the Jadeites/Ambers are a lot more expensive, 15k luxons costed me near 170k (without dyes) compared to ~80k for normal 15ks.

The only Luxon armor I'm interested in is Necromancer... so yea. Canthan armor looks like it needs fangs too you know. And I know about guildwiki. I contribute regularly, just under a different name.

At those prices, you've probably gotten your armor at a much earlier time or you're in a different territory. A couple of days ago, I can get jades for 600 gold each (not to mention i can farm for them), and fangs going for 1.5 plats (and no reliable way of getting them).

Mebe I'll give vizunah square more tries, since I haven't mastered it anyway... thanks.

Tahnnakai Temple and Sunjiang District is where I got all my monstrous material from for my Luxon armours. Sunjiang District (explorable) is better as you can also farm the constructs for their greens at the same time.

let us know if you find a good place to hunt for these angel netherborn, or whether vizunah was helpful or whatever.

I've also had a lot of Monsterous fangs drop for me at the Vinuzah Square mission. I got the Luxion 15k with my female Necro and I love it. It did cost a pretty penny as I had to purchase most of the materials. I already had 350 scales, then you need 35 monsterous fangs (at the time were selling 1.5k at trader each), and 70 jadeite shards (600g at trader at the time). Ended up costing me about 130k, but was well worth it.

I did try out the temple and the vizunah but i'm probably unlucky at drops. At best, I get ONE every 3 runs of each mission.

I actually went and gotten kurzick 15k instead (since I'm in a kurzick alliance anyway). I figured that huge sum of cash would be better off spent buying TWO sets of 15k instead of just one. And of course, I realised there are alot more necros with luxon 15k than kurzick 15k

buy a few dredge pincers (correct me if i'm wrong with the name ofthe item) and salvage them with expert, find the ratio of normal materials to the rares, and see if its worth it, if so just buy those at like, 150 gp each as for farming them, most of the areas with afflicted seem to be a nice supplier

meh farming for monstrous fangs is to difficult just scream in kaining wtb monstrous fangs pm me thats how i got my fangs for 15k luxon. Its gonna take a while but you'd be surprised how cheap some people sell them i managed to buy quite a few for 1k and most for 1.4k wich is alot better then buying them at 1.8k at trader (was price of fangs at the time)

Actually, that's wrong. Tyria has a much lower chance of getting any of the monstrous materials, simply becos much less things drop it.

As mentioned, the Afflicted seem to like dropping them, so Vizunah etc could work, however, Zen Daijun seems to drop them more regularly, and since you have a smaller party, even more regularly for you. I guess you could find a farming build for it ...

I thought the same thing, and I've gotten a few from farming Vizunah but I got pissed off when I was doing so much of the work and saw several drop but for others. I gave up and decided to buy mine, and it was not that much after all because to my surprise it was not hard to find people who would sell to me at same price trader would give them.
